Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Paintball?
Paintball is a game in which players use air/gas powered Paint Guns (called Paintball Markers) to fire small gelatin capsules filled with colored washable dye at their opponents. Players are called as a hit when they get hit by a paintball, many different type of games can be played, such as when you are hit you are out or when you are hit you go back to a rebirth station and enter the game again. (Capture the Flag, Freeze Tag, Dead End to mention just a few) These games are normally played on marked fields.
Is it Skirmish?
Yes. Introduced in the 1980’s as Skirmish and was generally fround upon, the name was changed to Paintball, to appease opponents of the sport.
Does it Hurt?
Yes and No. When you are playing the game your adrenaline is pumping, when you get hit you jump a little but soon forget about it and get right back in the game, protective gear can be worn. Full covered Head Protection specifically made for Paintball is worn, chest protection etc can also be worn. (We do not overdo the protection as this takes away the real aim of the activity, if you do you may as well play Laser Skirmish)
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Paintball Markers (Guns) are classified as firearms, we are obliged to follow the relevant Queensland Firearm Laws. The minimum age to play Paintball in Queensland is Fifteen (15). If we have any doubt regarding anyone’s age, we will refuse play, however everyone is welcome to come along to watch from the sidelines.
Can I bring my own paintballs?
No. Due to Safety Issues, we don’t allow paintball purchased elsewhere. We use top quality paintballs only.
Besides you would not go to a good restaurant and bring your own food.
Bring own Paintball Markers (Guns). Discuss this with Splat Attack Staff.
What should I bring?
You’ll need to bring full/enclosed footwear (no thongs or sandals). Sneakers are the best, as they are light, fast, and provide good traction, boots also are a good idea. You may bring you own clothing (Cams, etc) however we do have a supply of clothing.
The following items are definitely NOT ALLOWED: knives, and/or weapons of any kind, fireworks or incendiary devices, and illegal drugs.
Can women play?
Yes. Women can compete on an equal basis to men. Success in paintball is due to tactics, quick thinking, teamwork, communication, cool quick thinking under pressure, women make very good players.
Can we play at night?
At Splat Attack we are setting up night games (Under Construction)
Can I form a team or join a team?
Yes. Splat Attack have a Local Social Competition going at the moment and we welcome new players, just ask Spalt Attack Staff for more information.
